The TRACS system gives a real-time representation of global shipping movements,  trade and cargo movements. Having real time data gives a significant information edge compared to published data which lag actual trade flows. TRACS outputs include:

  • Imports/Exports broken down by type of cargo, origin and destination showing the trends since 2011

  • Current and estimated future tonnage distribution and surplus/deficit in major trading areas

  • Shipping demand measured in tonnes of cargo on the water and tonne miles of transportation demand

  • Vessel activity together with fleet utilisation and speed

The output from TRACS is used for demand analysis, fleet positioning, imports/export tracking and monitoring trade patterns along with many other uses.
